Head of School's Welcome

Welcome to St. George's Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy

At St. George’s, our Catholic faith provides the foundation for everything we do, guiding us to create a school where every child can flourish, every individual is respected and everyone is encouraged to make a positive difference to the lives of others.

St. George’s is a vibrant and inclusive two-form entry Catholic primary school. We are part of the Blessed Holy Family Catholic Academy Trust and work closely with the Diocese of Westminster and our parish, St George’s, Sudbury.

Our school is built on strong relationships. We are fortunate to have dedicated and talented staff who are committed to providing the very best for our pupils, alongside supportive families, Governors and an active Parish community. Together, we create an environment in which children feel safe, happy and confident to learn.

At the heart of our work is a belief in the potential of every child. We want our pupils to be curious, resilient and independent learners who are proud of their achievements and willing to embrace challenge. Our broad and rich curriculum provides children with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed, while a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom enables them to discover their interests, develop their talents and grow in confidence.

We place great importance on developing the whole child. Academic achievement matters, but so too do kindness, compassion, respect, perseverance and a willingness to serve others. We want our children to understand that their actions have an impact on those around them and to live out the values of our Christian faith in their everyday lives.

Our partnership with families and our Parish is central to this. By working together, we can ensure that our children are supported not only in their learning but also in their spiritual and personal development. We have high expectations for behaviour based on the teachings of Jesus and the virtues of forgiveness and respect.

Our Mission Statement reflects the caring and welcoming community we strive to create at St. George’s:

We are learning and growing together as God's family. We will always do our best to love and respect each other as we prepare for our future.

I hope you enjoy exploring our website. If you would like any further information about our school, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.
