St George’s Nursery – Dragons

St George’s Nursery Dragons

St George’s Nursery Dragons provides childcare and early years education for children aged two years to school age, under the governance of St George’s Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy. Established within the school in January 2003, we offer full-day and sessional care in a welcoming, safe, inclusive and stimulating environment.

Our provision follows the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, supporting children’s learning and development through a balance of child-initiated play and purposeful adult-led experiences. Our curriculum promotes communication and language, personal, social and emotional development, physical development, literacy, mathematics, understanding the world, and expressive arts and design.

Our dedicated team of early years practitioners supports each child as a unique individual, recognising their interests, abilities and developmental needs. Through positive relationships, observation and ongoing assessment, we provide engaging learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, creativity, independence, confidence and a love of learning.

Reflecting the Catholic ethos of our school, we promote kindness, respect, compassion, inclusion and a strong sense of community. We welcome and value children and families from all backgrounds and aim to ensure that every child feels safe, respected and supported.

Safeguarding, welfare and emotional well-being are central to our practice. We are committed to providing a secure environment, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring that our policies and procedures reflect current statutory requirements.

We value parents and carers as partners in their children’s learning and development. Through open communication and shared support, we work together to meet each child’s needs and provide a positive foundation for their transition to school.

At St George’s Nursery Dragons, our aim is to help every child become a happy, confident, curious and independent learner, ready for the next stage of their educational journey.

(Nursery opens at 08.30 on Friday Mornings).

We welcome visits to our nursery on Monday mornings. Please contact the Nursery Administrator to make an appointment.
