St Georges football is back with a bang

On Friday 2nd of July 2021 a squad of year 5 boys played in a home friendly against our friends Newton Farm Primary school. This being the first type of sporting event St Georges have been able to do since the pandemic started and was also a chance to debut our new football kit!

The game started off well with 2 early goals one from Jack with a low strike past the keeper and then a second being added after a Newton Farm defender failed to clear a cross from the wings. With the lead being 2-0 at half time, changes took place to give all players the chance to get some minutes under their belt. 

A strong St Georges defence with some great defending from Gabriel kept Newton farm at bay with us being able to extend the lead with Jack getting his second of the game. This making the score 3-0. The game ended with this and it was a great start to what we hope will be a successful year ahead in the sporting calendar for 2021-2022.
