St George’s Nursery – Dragons

St George’s Nursery

Dragons

We are an outstanding childcare and education provision for children aged 2 years to school age entry. The nursery is run under the governorship of St Georges Catholic Primary Voluntary Academy.

St George’s Nursery Dragons offers a pleasant and secure environment for childcare and early years learning, with a skilled team of early years professionals assisting children to learn and develop using the objectives set out by the EYFS. The service strives for a strong community reputation, offering full and sessional day care for children between two and five years of age.
The curriculum has a strong focus on language and literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and science and technology, while children also get the chance to practice arts and crafts skills, music and drama. Staff are trained in nationally recognised qualifications and are dedicated to a positive atmosphere in which children are secure and parents have peace of mind. The nursery is run by St George’s Catholic Primary School.

Housed within St George’s school since January 2003, our dedicated professional staff team provide a welcoming, secure, and stimulating environment. Our children are given exciting learning opportunities and experiences with the aim of helping them to grow and develop into confident and happy individuals.

(Nursery opens at 08.30 on Friday Mornings).

We welcome visits to our nursery on Tuesday mornings, please contact the Nursery Administrator to make an appointment.

Helping your child at home

“Partnership involves parents, families and practitioners working together to benefit children. Each recognises respects and values what the other does and says. Partnership involves responsibility on both sides.”

All the activities that you do with your child at home are important in supporting their learning and development and have a long lasting effect on your child’s learning as they progress through the Nursery.

The Nursery newsletter will give information about what your child has been learning. Use the information to in the newsletter to support your child's learning by reinforcing the teaching with hands on activities or simply talking to them about what they have been doing at nursery.

The nursery is valued by its users and the following quotes are from parents:

"We just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you.  Our son has enjoyed being with you, all of the time, even on his induction day, when he cried when it was time to go home.  I don't know how you do it, but our child has grown and flourished under your care.  We will be eternally grateful for all that you have done."

"Thank you all again for helping and guiding Sasha every single day in building the foundation of her knowledge.  Sasha is now showing full confidence to achieve some things such as singing and reciting a poem which she has learned at Nursery.  Her English has improved a lot.  She even started teaching us what she has learned.  You all are the reason behind these wonderful achievements.  Thank you."
